Valencia Airport
If you're unfamiliar with Valencia and want to explore its history, we recommend visiting the old town, which is marked by the Serrano and Quart Towers. In Plaza de la Reina, you can visit the Valencia Cathedral, which is believed to house the Holy Grail.
Just steps away from the square is the Miguelete Tower, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Climb its 207 spiral steps for some of the best views of Valencia. We also suggest exploring the Silk Exchange, the Central Market, and the Town Hall Square, where the famous Fallas festival and fireworks displays, known as "mascletàs," take place.
One of the most significant natural sites in the area is the Albufera, a 25-square-kilometer lagoon surrounded by 233 square kilometers of rice fields. In the nearby village of El Palmar, you can enjoy some of the best restaurants serving Valencia's famous paella and other rice dishes.
Along with the Albufera, the City of Arts and Sciences is a must-see in Valencia. Designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava, this modern complex offers a wide range of cultural and recreational activities. Be sure to visit the Oceanogràfic, the largest aquarium in Europe, as well as the Umbracle, the Hemisfèric, and the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum.
For more entertainment and dining options, head to the beaches of Las Arenas and Malvarrosa. Don’t miss the vibrant Ruzafa neighborhood, Plaza Xúquer, and the Barrio del Carmen, known for their multicultural vibe and lively atmosphere.
